Privacy Policy

SoneTools (the “App”) is published by Hasan Bozyel and operated under the Sone Labs brand (“we”, “us”, “our”). We respect your privacy and explain below what we access, how we use it, and your choices.

1) Scope

This Policy applies to the App and its features, including the floating overlay ring and pop-up tools (notes, lists, doodle, voice recorder, timer, calculator, Google Translate view) and the utilities on the home tabs (e.g., JPG↔PDF, merge/split PDFs, image compression, QR creation).

2) Where your data lives

We do not operate our own servers for this App. Your content—such as notes, lists, drawings, voice recordings, converted PDFs/JPGs, and settings (theme, language)—is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us.

Google Translate: Text you submit inside the Translate pop-up is sent directly to Google’s translation service to provide the translation. We do not store that text.

Advertising: We show ads using third-party partners (e.g., Google AdMob). These partners may process data such as advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID), IP address, device and app activity to show and measure ads under their own policies. You can limit ad personalization and reset your advertising ID in your device settings.

3) Permissions we use and why

• SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW — Shows the floating overlay ring and pop-ups over other apps. The overlay does not read, record, or capture what you view in other apps. You can stop it any time via “Stop Overlay.”
• RECORD_AUDIO — Used only when you start a voice recording. Audio files are saved locally on your device.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Shows notifications for timers/recordings and similar app activity.
• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Loads Google Translate inside the pop-up and serves ads.
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android ≤ 9, maxSdk 28) — Allows exporting files (PDF/JPG/drawings) on older Android versions. On newer Android versions we use the system file/photo pickers (no broad storage access).
• BILLING (Google Play) — Processes your one-time premium purchase securely via Google Play. We do not see or store card data.

Some features may display a foreground notification so Android can keep them running. The microphone foreground service is used only while you are recording audio.

4) Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your on-device content (notes, lists, drawings, recordings) with third parties. Translation requests go to Google to provide the service. Ads use third-party SDKs as described above. Purchases are handled by Google Play.

5) Retention & deletion

Your on-device data remains until you delete it in the App (e.g., Clear/Delete actions) or uninstall the App.

Device backup note: if Android backup is enabled for your device/account, some app data may be backed up to your Google account under Google’s terms. We do not control that backup.

6) Your choices & controls

• Permissions: Revoke microphone/notifications/overlay in Android Settings at any time.
• Overlay: Toggle or stop via the floating menu (“Stop Overlay”).
• Ads: Reset the Advertising ID and limit ad personalization in device settings.
• Translate: Avoid entering sensitive content if you do not want it sent to Google for translation.

7) Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required in your region (e.g., 13 or 16). If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so we can help with on-device deletion.

8) Security

We rely on Android’s sandboxing, permissions, and encryption mechanisms and follow reasonable industry practices. No method is 100% secure.

9) Changes

We may update this Policy. We will post the latest version on this page and update the “Last Updated” date.
